Emergency support for UK & Irish businesses affected by Coronavirus
We have attached some key Government support resources below.
As the uncertainty of the situation surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we understand that it is starting to affect businesses in many ways. You can be assured that your team at FPM is fully committed to the safety and health of our employees and our communities while ensuring minimal disruption to our work and client service during this period of great uncertainty.
Over the past 5 years we have committed to an expenditure programme to put in place a highly resilient infrastructure which guarantees business continuity to our employees and clients when faced with serious business interruption.
We are now leveraging those assets and policies to ensure our firm and our clients are in the best position to succeed without interruption during this time of great uncertainty. Some of the specific steps, resources and policies we’re leveraging are outlined below:
- We have the technology infrastructure for our entire firm to work remotely, if necessary. We are testing all remote access systems and processes with a mandatory work from home day for all employees in the coming days.
- We are enhancing our video conferencing and remote communication capability to enable employees and clients to continue interaction without the need to travel as the UK and Irish Governments prepare to move from ‘containment’ to ‘delay’ tactics which will enforce ‘social distancing’
- We have already communicated to our staff that if they have symptoms such as running a high temperature, sneezing, coughing, etc. we request that they stay at home. The same applies to staff whom the Chief Medical Officer in either UK or Ireland considers to be at high risk or has family members at risk or with symptoms.
We will continue to update you on the specific steps that FPM is taking as the situation evolves. We also want to make sure that your business is as prepared as it can be during this time of uncertainty. To that end, several of our experts have documented considerations and best practices to help businesses protect their critical assets in the face of this changing dynamic.

Additionally, as part of the worldwide PKF Network we can share with you below some of the best business practices being recommended by our sister firm in New York, PKF O’Connor Davies LLP:
- Factoring Coronavirus into your Business Continuity Plan, by Mark Bednarz, CPA, CISA, CFE, Partner
- Dealing with the Cybersecurity Challenges of Coronavirus, by Thomas J. DeMayo, Principal, Cyber Risk Management.
We hope you find these helpful as you plan for what’s to come. As always, the team at FPM is here for you. We will continue to monitor this challenging situation and communicate with you as needed. Thank you for continuing to put your trust in us. Stay safe and well.
